EDINBURGH, 10 October 2025 — Kangaroo Self Storage has launched a new, light-hearted radio campaign on Heart Scotland, running from October to December. The campaign coincides with the company’s 20 year milestone since opening its first store in Dundee in October 2005 and invites listeners to ‘find a little extra space’ at their nearest Kangaroo store and make room for what matters.
Chris Stevens, CEO said; “I’m incredibly proud of the team. Whilst together we have built a company that now brings our brand of self storage to fifteen cities in the UK, most importantly we have a team that understands people and the varied lives we lead. Whilst our customers increasingly tell us they use storage by choice, storage still remains largely a needs driven purchase – and its life’s challenges that most often drives that need. We have continued to recruit to our troop the kind of individual who is first and foremost a people person. And, I know it’s our customers that drive our team and makes Kangaroo what it is.”

With nearly 200,000 sq ft of storage across Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Kangaroo continues to invest in Scotland, adding further space in Glasgow and Edinburgh this year. The company now operates 15 stores across Scotland, the North of England and the Midlands, providing clean, secure and flexible storage for householders, businesses and students.

Kangaroo’s services are designed to remove cost and complexity for householders, students and startup businesses alike:
Kangaroo’s story is primarily about people. The company’s first employee, Bobbie How, joined in October 2005 and remains part of the team 20 years on, a testament to the business’s local roots and service ethos.
Bobbie said; “I’ve been at Kangaroo from the moment the doors opened to the public for the first time. Over the years I like to think I’ve supported many customers through their tough times. People need storage most often at relatively short notice and generally during stressful moments – house moves; helping ageing family into care; through breakdowns in relationships; starting up a business or working away from head office on projects. If I can help make that period just a little easier then I think I’ve done a good job. Kangaroo has always understood this – we’re not just about looking after people’s belongings, we’re about looking after people too.”
Listeners can hear Kangaroo’s first advert of their new campaign on Heart Scotland throughout the autumn. You can listen to Heart Scotland on FM radio by tuning to 101.1 FM for Edinburgh or 100.3 FM for Glasgow. And, by using the Heart or Global Player app, online at heart.co.uk, or by asking your smart speaker to play Heart Scotland.
